"Yoga takes you to the present moment, the only place where life exists"

I am a qualified Yoga teacher with certifications in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Children’s Yoga

Sports injuries brought me to yoga initially around twenty years ago. I loved running, circuits, climbing, spin etc – anything super active.  When I was unable to train due to injury, I would turn to yoga and once my issue resolved I would resume ‘normal activity’. This cycle repeated itself several times (perhaps the Universe was trying to tell me something) until I found that it benefitted me in a multitude of ways, so needed to become more than just an alternative to my usual exercise routine.  I found it helped with my stress, anxiety, digestion and also helped me to gain flexibility, strength and resilience, both on and off the mat. There are just so many styles which are suitable for different needs; gentle restorative, Yin, more dynamic flows such as Vinyasa, Power, Rocket, Jivamukti and a whole lot more. Now I can’t imagine life without my daily practice. Alongside meditation, my regular practice puts me in the perfect mental space to start my day.

After several years of procrastinating over whether or not to take a teacher training course, I finally decided to take the plunge because I wanted to share this beautiful ‘moving meditation’  with others. Unfortunately (or maybe not) shortly after I was diagnosed with a chronic illness/pain condition, which threw a big spanner in the works and pulled me out of teaching. I am learning to manage it now but despite the intense pain I try to focus on the positive side of this – it has helped me to decide my niche as a person with lived experience and alongside my sports therapy degree which I am currently studying, I will be able to offer a more therapeutic style and work with students with injuries/chronic illness.

I don’t have a fancy story of travelling to India or Bali, (although I am hoping to experience this in the not too distant future), I took my teacher training here, in London, part time, in between a corporate office day job…

My current offerings are detailed below. If you would like to stay updated, please check in here, on my social media channels and/or subscribe to my monthly newsletter.

Thank you for reading about me and hopefully I will see you on the mat sometime soon!

Namaste

Information about the styles I teach

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slower paced type of yoga where positions are held for longer than other styles of yoga, normally around 3-5 minutes. It allows you to slow down your body, mind and focus on your breath activating the parasympathetic nervous system which allows us to relax, heal and restore. It improves flexibility as it works into the deeper tissues (fascia, connective tissues etc) to release tension and tightness around the joints and increases circulation. Suitable for all levels

Private 1&1 Tuition

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is one of the more gentler forms of yoga. Its typically slower paced. Students are guided slowly into postures and each would be held for a few breaths which will challenge both strength and flexibility. I also make hands on adjustments and offer adaptations/progression as necessary. This one is suitable for all levels.

Children's Yoga

I hold fun, themed, classes for little ones that will encourage them to stay active while learning this ancient practice. Classes are typically around 30 minutes (depending on the age range) and are also small so that I can address each child by name and give each individual attention. COMING SOON...

Vinyasa (Power) Yoga

Vinyasa (or flow) yoga is a more dynamic faster paced class where there is a flow of transition between postures. Some experience of yoga is needed. - so not for absolute beginners. The classes are fun, open level with plenty of adaptations/progressions.
